Dear Students & Parents,
This upcoming Fall is going to be a very exciting one for our studio. In addition to our annual performance of the Nutcracker in December, we will be adding five performances of Hansel & Gretel in October and November.
Hansel & Gretel was originally commissioned by New York Theatre for children with funding from the American Theatre wing and MetLife insurance company. This ballet with dialogue, choreographed by Betteanne Terrell and performed by her company of the New York Dance Ensemble extensively in the New York City area has been seen by thousands of students.
We are pleased to announce that the senior students are now members of the New York Dance Ensemble. We will be performing Hansel & Gretel at Guild Hall in East Hampton on October 16th, 17th, and 18th. In addition to this, we have been engaged to perform at Kean University in Union, New Jersey on November 8th and 9th. This looks to be an exciting experience for our students and families.
For the December performances of The Nutcracker, rehearsals for children aged 4 and up will begin September 12th. All children’s rehearsals will be held on Saturdays with times for each group to be posted at a later date. Senior Company rehearsals to be announced.
